Get to know us

Birthed out of Loren Cunningham’s vision in 1960 of seeing waves of young people taking the gospel to the nations, Youth With A Mission (YWAM) Buea remains committed to YWAM’s original call to “know God and make Him known.”

In 2017 Hilaire and Ghislaine Bakoume moved into the city of Buea to pioneer a different kind of ministry called The Academy of the Nations, there by launching YWAM Buea 7 years later together with other YWAMers. God led them to experience a legendary hospitality in Buea – a dynamic city, with youths moving in and out for tourism, education, and events. This city would reflect God’s call to the Mission to champion youth, inspire them to discover their purpose in God and equip them to accomplish it with mission trainings and international outreaches.

YWAM Buea is an international Christian community focusing on youth mentoring, community development, trainings, and global outreach. We are part of an international movement called YWAM (Youth With A Mission).

YWAM BUEA

We are a small family, representing a diversity of cultures and nationalities. Life at YWAM Buea is always filled with joyful activities bringing friends and our families together. We enjoy meeting for a game, storytelling, outing to swim at the beach, mountain hiking and to indulge in some delicious spicy local foods.

Logding

How we host you is not just about ensuring a good night’s rest, but an act of hospitality meant to make you feel welcome and valued.

In our base, the reception is the main entry point where visitors are welcomed, given information, and directed to the right place. It also handles calls, messages, and basic check-ins.

Learning Room

Our classroom is a simple space used for teaching and training. The emphasis is more on spiritual growth and practical ministry than exams or formal academics.
